Seoul, Hanoi enhance cooperation

Seoul will enhance its cooperation with Ha Noi, particularly in a project to develop the Red River section in Viet Nam ’s capital city.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon made the affirmation to Truong Tan Sang, a Politburo member and permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, in Ha Noi on December 2.

The Mayor said his visit is aimed at stepping up the cooperation between the two capital cities, and he would do his utmost to tighten the multifaceted relations with Ha Noi, and contribute to the partnership relations between the two countries.

The Vietnamese party official said Seoul ’s experiences in management and development would be useful for Ha Noi and other cities in Viet Nam . He also said he hope to see large-scale and efficient cooperation programmes between the two cities in the future.

The project to develop the Red River section in Ha Noi, co-drafted by a team of experts from Seoul and the Ha Noi Planning and Architecture Department, aims to upgrade river dykes, irrigation facilities and build an urban area on the river’s banks.
